My professional experience includes working with youth aged 12-18 and their families in residential treatment and school settings since 2003.  In 2011 I began working with adults (individuals, couples, families) in private practice settings.

Clinical Approach: I approach therapy with a foundation of Family Systems Theory as well as Person-Centered Therapy, where I utilize the therapeutic relationship to support my clients, facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth, and the development of personal resources.  I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and work to identify unhealthy thoughts and behavior patterns and support clients in learning better ways of coping.  I also utilize Structural Therapy which addresses roles and boundaries in the family structure, and Narrative Therapy, where I support clients in understanding and reauthoring their own stories. 

Education: Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University in 2006

License & Credentials: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008. Trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Hobbies/Interests: I love summer and warm weather (the warmer, the better), and I enjoy spending time at our cabin with my husband and our children.  I also enjoy fireplaces, the ocean, good food, and a sense of humor.
